Music Downloads Free from the Library

,
Prince George, B.C. - Prince George residents need look no further than the Public Library for their next music downloads.  The library now offers free, legal downloads of more than 500,000 songs from the Sony Music catalogue.  Spokesperson Neil Godbout says all that is needed to download songs is a library card and internet access.

"They can go just directly to our website and as long as they have their card number and their PIN number, they can look through the catalogue, they can search by artist, by song title, and as long as they're a group or a singer that's licenced and distributed by Sony, they'll be able to access them."  The music files, which work on almost any computer, tablet, smartphone, and mp3 player, do not expire.

Library card holders can download three songs a week.  Area residents who want to use Freegal, but do not have a library card, should drop by either the Bob Harkins or Nechako branch.
